| Bio: | Chris is a native of Columbus, NE and entered the Real Estate field following college and a brief period in retail management. He obtained his Salesperson's License in 1987 and his Broker's License in 1991. After working with two local Real Estate Brokers and one of Omaha's largest commercial real estate firms for a total of nine years, Chris founded the C.S. Nelson Co. in 1996. His areas of specialization include commercial, residential and farm real estate as well as property management.
Having worked in both small and large offices, his preference for a small, ethical, highly competent and confidential work team has been the focus of his company since its inception. The eight person team he has assembled has over 65 combined years of real estate experience.
Chris is a graduate of Columbus High School and The University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He is a Life Member of the UNL Alumni Association, Life Member of the Platte County Historical Society, serves on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, Commodores, Knights of Columbus Council #938 and a Member of St. Bonaventure Church. He has served as President of the Columbus Board of Realtors in both 1992 and 2003. He has held all other Board offices twice and in addition has been a Director of the Columbus Board of Realtors for a total of 12 years. He has been approved by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission to teach Real Estate Principles and Practices (0040) and Real Estate Finance (0042) and has taught Pre-Licensing courses in Real Estate at Central Community College – Platte Campus. He was honored as "Realtor of the Year" by the Columbus Board of Realtors and the Nebraska Realtors Association in 2003. Chris also serves on the New Neighborhoods Initiative Task Force, Retail Development Committee and as Logistics Chairman for the Columbus Days Board, which plans and organizes a city wide celebration each August. Although he stays busy listing, selling and managing real estate, in his free time he enjoys working outdoors, restoring antique tractors, woodworking, photography, traveling and has many other interests. |
